What is the best escape room in the world? How hard is to answer this question… However, we really wanted to share with you this short list of the best escape rooms. Creating this page was a way for us to remember those 30 moments of madness that will stay with us forever. We hope you will find inspiration for your next escape room trip.
Of course, this top is completely subjective and is not supported by any statistical model. Moreover, we obviously did not wait to play all the rooms in the world to submitt this ranking.
We have no words to describe the masterpiece of Lockhill… Is this the 3rd generation of escape room? It’s probably one of the best escape room in the world. The space is huge and could easily contain 3 or 4 traditional escape rooms. The set and atmosphere are stunning… Count on perfectly orchestrated appearances and stunts, just like the rest of the rooms of Athens. Actors also give some amazing roleplay and excitement moments. The story of Chapels and Catacombs perfectly completes the trilogy that precedes it. It might be wise to play the first adventures before playing here.
Brandon Darkmoor is the masterpiece of The Room… It is worth a trip to Berlin. What to say, except that the wonderment is total and constant throughout the game. The work on the sound and light atmosphere is carried out with a masterful hand. So much so that a staging effect made us completely lose our mind. As its creator (Chris Lattner) explains, each action of an escape room must be consistent and related to the scenario. Amen, you’ve got it all figured out and said it all. That’s what made you successful. Brandon Darkmoor is definitely one of the best escape rooms in the world.
A powerful sound and a scenario worthy of a great SF movie make The End a world-class venue. An immersive show that will never be forgotten. Did you know that DarkPark collaborated with the creators of TV series Westworld to create this masterpiece ?
Like “Don’t Take a Breath”, The Live Thriller is more of an immersive experience than a traditional escape room. Realism is pushed as far as it can. We sometimes wonder whether everything we see is pure fiction or is really happening… Moreover, the creators warn you on his website with this message: “All you risk is believing in it”.
Here, we are close to an immersive adventure like the Secret Cinema or the Live Thriller. And you may know that we love it. It is more than advisable to watch the movie “Don’t breath” before playing this room. Indeed, fidelity to the feature film is close to perfection. Forget the puzzles and let yourself be carried by the action.
Impressive and epic, Cibercity 2049 embodies the perfection and renewal of the escape room industry. Escape Barcelona is definitely not a brand like the others and creates some of the best escape rooms in the world… Each new room is another step in innovation. The set was so amazing that we didn’t want to leave the room. A tip: take the time to explore everything and be curious, because a large number of hidden actions are hidden everywhere.
Deep Inside has created a unique concept that connects its two scenarios. The adventure takes place at the heart of a mysterious underground city.The idea is as original as it is brilliantly realized. Moving from one scenario to another is so perfect, so fluid. It’s incredible to have such a coherent and well-designed experience.
Birth Machine is not a room like any other. The crazy idea of the creators of Mad Machines is to make you relive your own birth. The design is brilliant and creates funny situations. Hilarious and memorable!
Beyond what can be expected from an escape room. The Dome exceeds the limits of the possible and the imaginable. Never before have we been so disoriented by an immersive adventure. Is the Dome the climax of the escape room? It has been considered as the best escape room of the world for a long time. Who will ever be able to do the same?

La Posesión takes its inspiration from the horror film “Insidious.” The beginning of the game is phenomenal with spectacular special effects. The actors have perfect control over the interventions, which are acrobatic and subtly performed. It’s the climax of cinematic horror rooms that will make you believe what you see is supernatural… A wonder to play, and one of the best horror escape room in the world.
Tú También Flotarás lives up to the overwhelming expectations that preceded our test. The room’s sucess is based on the interactions you can have with the clown. An incredible actor’s performance that will stay with us for a long time. You will explore 320m2 of surface and several floors. You will continue to progress inside the mansion and discover ever more terrifying rooms.
A unique scenario ! We love these unusual room that have never been seen elsewhere. The finale provides a big adrenaline rush, with a great mix of lights, sounds, and physical special effects worthy of action movie sets. Emotions guaranteed

DEMISE OF THE GRICERS

“Demise of the Gricers” is undoubtedly one of the most memorable immersive experiences of our lives. We booked a very late slot, it was past midnight, and it immediately immersed us in a horror movie atmosphere. The game takes place in an immense railway site with indoor and outdoor sections. The game design is superb, restricting players in their movements, creating an absolutely inexhaustible tension. The narrative, the result of two years of thoughtful work, revolves around several strong personalities that we discover through ultra-realistic audio recordings. Therefore, “Demise of the Gricers” is not an escape room in the traditional sense of the term, but an experience that is likely one-of-a-kind.
Again, having seen the movie is a plus to fully savour the adventure. Here, it is the performance of the actors that is fabulous. Moments when you can only stand still and contemplate the beauty of the choreographies. A horror film, but in real life…
Huge, a bunch of surprises… Molly’s Game has a lot in common with The Dome, but there is a difference in size: the place of the storyline. The script clearly is the centre stage. In addition, Molly’s Game amazes with unique riddles and beautiful set.
It is for this kind of astonishing room that we travel outside of France. Tokyo Lab is an amazing escape room from every angle. The scenery of the first part is the most perfect replica of an alley of Tokyo. As for the rest of the adventure, it reserves a story line of breathtaking anticipation. Tokyo Lab is one of the jewels of Europe’s escape rooms and takes Belgium to another dimension.

The designers of Escape Barcelona are full of skills to create such marvels. Akasha is the most successful action/adventure game we have played. Special effects and setting would even make Hollywood studios blush.
It’s big, it’s beautiful and we still want more. The feeling of coming back to childhood is more than enjoyed in this adventure. What you need to do makes you feel like you’re living in a fairytale. Probably the best room in Switzerland for a long time.

When high-quality horror room and set design go hand in hand, you’re definitely in for a must-see experience. In “Malum,” you’ll have to exorcise the Evil that has taken over the place. The actors are absolutely incredible, especially in the sounds they’re able to produce without any special effects. You’ll also witness several high-quality cinematic scenes where the goal is simply to contemplate the “thing” walking around you.
On se répète mais Woman in Black est elle aussi inspirée du film éponyme avec Daniel Radcliffe. Ici les énigmes donnent à réfléchir ce qui est rarement le cas des expériences “horreur”. La qualité des apparitions chorégraphiées est une nouvelle fois tout autant remarquable qu’effrayante.

A gigantic and magnificent reproduction of a small Scottish village. The set is superb, as often in Athens. Fog dominates and easily creates the illusion of being outside. We can criticize one or two puzzles on which we have had trouble understanding the logic. But this in no way removes the fact that you can’t miss “The Sacrifice”.

Hidden Chamber is an escape room far away from German tourist destinations. Without the wise recommendations of local players, we would never have come to play at Salzufler Unterwelt. We have to thanks them because this escape room is a must. Using an authentic historical place, they have built an epic adventure. When you solve a puzzle, many sound and luminous effects improve the immersion. It is no surprise that “The Room” was involved in creating this room!

A crazy escape room. We thought we were playing an action-based escape room. But it’s much more than that. You’ll go through all the emotions in this room. It’s full of surprises. The game-master’s performance is unbelievable…
That’s not the story you’re waiting for when you book the room. That’s why we’re not going to reveal any element of it. The special feature of Wake Up is that it gives moments of madness that few designers have dared before.The level of fear is quite high but creates a special link with the actors. Once accustomed to the jump-scare, the fear turns into a laugh. You have never experienced anything like this in an escape room, so breath slowly and go for it!
Funny, inventive, extremely playful…Time Machine has an beautiful set and a very amusing narrative. This time travel adventure breaks away from the usual. If you’re planning a trip to Milan, we highly recommend playing both rooms at Mad Machines. The Milanese venue truly deserves its international success.
What makes this room so original is its innovative concept: a criminal investigation where you are the main suspects. Here, you’re not tracking down a criminal; the criminal is among you. We rarely felt as much suspicion towards friends in an escape room.
Nautilus is clearly a must-visit in Europe. It’s the kind of epic adventure that will transport you to a remarkable universe. The story is brilliantly crafted and is full of humorous references. The game mastering is fantastic and the game master embodies a true travel companion. A unmissable experience when visiting Prague.
Nathael is a kind of evil jumanji. A game in which you are forced to perform terrifying challenges. Supernatural scenery and movie scenes await you in this dark house.
So much fun! Tao Japanese Massage Center will give you a state of perpetual euphoria. In a quality set design, you will take the greatest pleasure in performing crazy actions. A must-play in Europe that fully deserves its rank at TERPECA.
We didn’t know much about this escape game by reserving it. In the end, this immersive adventure is a real treasure. The intention is not to spread terror among the players, but to play hide and seek with a wandering soul. The interactions are memorable. Richard Teunen and his father Anthony Teunen (our actors on the day of the test) deliver a remarkable performance. The post-apocalyptic atmosphere immediately makes a strong impression. Icing on the cake: the scenario will give you a gorgeous twist at the end of the game. Do not hesitate to debrief with the game-masters to understand all the specificities of the story line.
