Yeah, I'm Bob, the old bastard who's taken a fancy to many a scumbag. I remember the time when I was sniffing the heels of thieves in Žižkov, Prague. The place was rotten to the core - thefts, muggings, murders in broad daylight. There were places where the soul of an ordinary living person wouldn't smell, but I liked the job and I absolutely adored this city. Back then, there was already a well-known rogue who liked to drive any package out of his beloved city. That year I hooked up as a lieutenant in the police precinct. Yeah, those were the days. I know, my memory doesn't really serve me as well as it used to, I forget and many cases merge into one big colorful blur. But I still have a vivid image of that one in my head... It was one of the first days of spring, but summer was still a long way off, the girls were already running outside in short dresses and light sweaters, and it was a great sight for us policemen. That evening, our full-day shift was ending, I just had new recruits on duty, and I was looking forward to how we would spend a penny in the local pub. But this thought was driven out of my head by the ringing of the phone. I picked him up - a report from headquarters, a rather ugly murder in the park. What to pay, booze and women have to wait a few hours. Back then, I was driving the Greens here for their first big case, so what, in the meantime I could enjoy a few glasses of something sharper in peace.
